A gallery of Witches cottages;

Honeypot cottage

This odd house is the home of Black Mog, a wicked witch indeed. The eye-like window in the thatched roof looks out from a large round chamber and gives her an excellent view of anybody foolish enough to approach her lair uninvited. This chamber is where she likes to conjure and cast her magic knuckle bones (which are rumoured to be human!). It is said by the local people that she can see for hundreds of miles by intricate magic spells cast upon this strange window. They also say she loves to do evil to helpless maids whom she entraps in the woods. Once they are snared Black Mog casts deep enchantments upon them and they become her slaves forever.

Rivertree cottage

and the sisters Grinegob

Two old sisters, who are both witches, live in this pleasant thatched cottage. The elder sister has a bristly chin, almost a beard, and her younger sister (whom she calls "young'un") has a remarkably long and pointed nose. Apart from these features they are very alike, having reached that stage of old age when they could be seventy or a hundred and seventy. And who would dare to ask? Both Grinegob sisters wear well worn, greyish-black robes, all of the time, with large hoods to protect their rat-tail hair from the cold and wet. It is said that this pair are not too evil, and that sometimes they help the villagers with minor cures for warts and the like.

Wise woman's cottage

Old Ma Stone lives in this cute cottage which is surrounded by a tough and impenetrable thorny hedge. She is a thoroughly good and wise woman who appears in The Fairy Queen story (see the Library). The cottage nestles near the edge of the woods and lies on the outskirts of the village of Westfold. Ma Stone aids the local villagers in all things medicinal, including childbirth. A tough and resourceful woman who looks around fifty.

Shanara's cottage

The occupant of this wistful round cottage is a lovely old lady called Shanara. She likes to help any who need it and so is very popular in her neck of the woods. Although not too pleased at being called a witch, Shanara might admit to being a 'good witch' or perhaps a 'white witch' if pushed. She has a great knowledge of nature and herbs and plants and knows the ways of pixies and elven folk.

Home of the nasty, loathsome and totally foul witch Radagitch who has an enormously long and thick tongue. It is so long (perhaps two feet) that she can (and does) catch flies like a frog.

Plowbell Cottage

The witch who lives here in the far north is versed in all things to do with ice and snow and cold. she is an ice-witch and can be seen riding in her sleigh around the hills and forests of Voldania.
