Centaurs

The centaur is a noble being, having the legs and body of a large horse and the torso, arms and head of a man. These people are strange and rare, generally living a solitary life in the woods or hilly country. They are often well versed in horology, astrology and astronomy and are wise, serious people.

Centaurs live on two diets, one of horses (grass, hay and oats) and the other of men (although they do tend to be vegetarians). They often associate with fauns, dryads, tree and river spirits and other forest dwelling folk. They live on the fringes of other societies, particularly on the island of Athon where they are respected and revered.

Some centaurs are magicians or sorcerers, which is not surprising considering their natural talents and intelligence. Luckily they are usually good people - but not a good idea to get on the wrong side of a wrathful centaur !
