Salamanders are small lizard-like creatures or miniature dragons.
They are about eight inches long and fly around quickly, rather like a
large dragon-fly. Salamanders come from the underworld where the goblins
are rumoured to keep them as pets. They are constantly hot and will set
fire to anything they touch that burns well (like paper or wood). They
are happiest curled up in the embers of a fire which makes an
excellent nest from their point of view.
These three young
salamanders are playing with a fireball in the mists of a volcano. Being
fiery creatures molten rock seems like heaven to them.
