Giants

Giants are very large men, typically between nine to fifteen feet tall and weighing several tons. They are quite simple creatures and their size allows them a certain immunity to attack from smaller races! The giants live in small settlements of one or two families in hilly country to the north. They herd cattle, sheep, goats and pigs and sell these to other peoples in return for metals and grain.

Giants have mysterious meeting places called stone circles where they have erected huge rocks in a circle and they hold some sort of religious ceremonies. Often giant bones can be found in riverbeds and exposed layers of sedimentary rock or earth, thus proving that they were once more numerous. There are legends that there was, in ancient times, a widespread civilization of giants and these old bones would tend to reinforce that legend. Despite their size, or perhaps because of it, giants are not especially intelligent and tend to go for the ‘bash it hard with a club’ response to any taxing or confusing problem.
