Gudron is a nation of tough hill men who live on the west coast, to the south of the great rift. Their country is hemmed in on all sides by mountains or hills, which is how they like it.

Syftan is an elvish palace and stronghold in the middle of Heavenmoss Forest. There is a tall hill in a clearing upon which an earthwork has been raised even higher by the elves. People say that this hill is riddled with caves and tunnels into which the elves can retreat in times of trouble. Also the King’s Halls and palace occupy the lower tunnels beneath the hill. Syftan is, they say, a wondrous place, although no human has ever set foot within it’s magical halls. There is no evidence of the elves when they choose to remain hidden; Syftan simply looks like an oddly shaped hill. But they are there, hidden beneath their hill with all the doors and windows disguised by glamour spells and grassy secret doors.

This is a large and mysterious forest near Gudron. Reputedly a secret Faerie Kingdom called Syftan lies at its heart and Centaurs and Fauns can be seen dancing under the moonlight by any man foolish enough to invade the forest’s peaceful slumber.
