KINGDOM OF ATHON

Athon is a large island and kingdom of men to the east of Lesser Narb. The capital city is called Shallin. The island is, in some mysterious way, magical. This affects all of the inhabitants, giving some of them natural magical abilities. Athon is so magical that some beasts and plants are rumoured to actually talk!

The king of Athon is always a were-beast, that is to say he can turn from animal to man and back again.

Athon is a peaceful land where strangers are not generally welcome; they like to keep themselves to themselves. Athon has strong trading links with Imradd. For money they use a Silver Lion (worth about the same as a Crown or Groat from Redune) and copper cents. There are 100 copper cents to a Lion; there are also ten and fifty cent pieces.

WHITPORT

Whitport is a fairly large port in Athon that exports food and other staples to Anguin and Gorglis. A small fleet of coastal vessels, both merchant and fishing craft, operate out of the harbour that is protected by a small fort. The town is rather sleepy and rural but pleasant. Most of the buildings are made of cob and thatch. There is a fairly major road that passes through Whitport from Shallin.
