ZING |
|
A magical City on the west
coast near the Empire of Sanskra, Zing is located on a major trade
route to the south. |
|
Each of the guilds elect a
Grand Master who represents the guild on the city council, this council,
headed by the Bizzir, is the ‘Upper House’ of government in the city.
The lower house is made up of the Grand Masters of non-magical guilds
(Masons, Beekeepers etc). |
|
In times of peace the Bizzir is effectively chairman of both the upper and lower houses (which may not sit simultaneously). But in times of war or crisis he (or she) has additional powers, if these powers are invoked the Bizzir becomes the ‘Nar-Bizzir’ for the remainder of his term of office. |
|
For example in the time of the dragon invasion (1459-1464) Calar the Blue was Nar-Bizzir for four years during which time he held (virtually) the power of a king. His full titles were: |
|
‘His eminence Calar the Blue, Grand Master of the Sorcerers Lodge, Nar-Bizzir of Zing and Protector of the People.' |
|
DESERT OF NILL |
|
A huge desert to the south
where the sand is red and yellow and all of the shades in between, the
Desert of Nill is a harsh and inhospitable place. No men live there
although some say small tribes of tough and wiry red-skinned goblins
manage to somehow eke out an existence amongst the dunes. |
